Recently, applicants and owners of Trademarks, Designs and Patents are receiving communications from certain private bodies or companies which, for a charge, offer to publish or register their marks, designs and/or patents. Their offers suggest that such publication or registration is highly necessary when indeed it is completely useless and without official value or legal effect. Therefore such practice can be qualified as fraudulent.
